About Dr. Harold R. Dewberry Ph.D., M.R.Ed.
At the age of 21, I had become dependent upon alcohol. Sickness and disease was a daily portion in our family. We attended church, believed in the death and resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also believed that one day a beautiful kingdom would be established where there would be no tears, sickness, or turmoil. Yet there was a tremendous gap between what we knew historically about the passion of Christ and the futuristic establishment of the tangible kingdom where there would be all bliss. Like our family, multitudes of sincere Bible believing Christians are living in this grey, dark region of life,hanging on desperately, not trying to let the negative cycles of life negate our trust and life in the Lord. At the age of 25, when sickness was abounding in our family; understanding came to us that activated our faith to a higher degree. This understanding opened the doorway for the healing, delivering power of Christ to be manifested in our own family.
Since that time, 47 years of full time ministry has passed and we have seen multitudes come to total freedom in spirit, soul, and body. The key that opened the doorway is found in Luke 4:18-21, “The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are down-trodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], to proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound. Then He rolled up the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing [attentively] at Him. And He began to speak to them: Today this Scripture has been fulfilled while you are present and hearing.” (AMP)
After reading the prophetic word from Isaiah, Jesus said “This day the scripture is fulfilled in your ears.” Jesus himself operated his healing ministry based on Isaiah 53:4-5; Mathew 8:16: “They brought unto him that were possessed with devils; and he cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all that were sick. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet “Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses…” and Isiah 58:5 & 12: " Is such a fast as yours what I have chosen, a day for a man to humble himself with sorrow in his soul? [Is true fasting merely mechanical?] Is it only to bow down his head like a bulrush and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him [to indicate a condition of heart that he does not have]? Will you call this a fast and an acceptable day to the Lord?" "And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of the Streets to Dwell in." These are the verses of scripture that I have based Dewberry Ministries International off of.
